  • Fiction

    Darlene Elder is a novelist, former teacher, and journalist. Early in her career, she published short stories and nonfiction articles for teen magazines and the Boston Globe. She also wrote for professional writing journals and published an easy reader with Houghton-Mifflin. She is currently working on two middle-grade novels and one young adult novel. Darlene taught English/Language Arts and writing for over thirty years to middle and high school students and to adult English language learners.

    Darlene has extensive experience navigating the fiction literary world and has done copyediting for diverse texts, including academic book manuscripts, articles, essays, and grant applications. She has also written numerous passages and questions for national standardized tests. Darlene holds a Master’s in Curriculum and Design, focusing on teaching writing, from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

  • Nonfiction

    Nicole Kreisberg is an Assistant Professor at Pennsylvania State University. She has written one academic book, under contract with the University of Chicago Press, and she has published over 20 academic articles, policy briefs, OpEds, and essays. He academic interests center around work and occupations, schooling experiences and the life course, and immigration policy. But she has provided editorial services for academic writers in diverse fields and at all developmental stages, from early drafts of book chapters to final drafts of articles and job market cover letters.

    Nicole has deep expertise in editing for multilingual writers. She speaks Spanish and has counseled, taught, and advocated for immigrant and English language learners in various capacities for over 15 years. Nicole holds her Ph.D. in Sociology from Brown University.
